Sherrie Hewson

Sherrie Hewson began performing at the tender age of four and won an Olivier Award at the age of 15 which was the first of many prestigious awards throughout the years including Best Actress and Best Comedy Actress. She was granted a scholarship for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has gone on to have an impressive career in film, television and theatre. Sherrie is best known for her iconic portrayal of Maureen Holdsworth in Coronation Street.

For the last ten years Sherrie has made a new niche as the comedy cornerstone of ITV’s hugely successful Loose Women. She published her own crime fiction novel The Tannery in 2009 and is currently working on her next novel and developing children’s books. Her autobiography Sherrie – Behind The Laughter was a number 1 best-seller. Sherrie recently starred as Joyce Temple-Savage taking The Solana Resort by storm as the new manager in ITV’s hit rated series Benidorm, wowing audiences in her own inimitable fashion once again proving her immense popularity as one of Britain's best-loved actresses.
